AMEXTRA works in marginalized rural and urban communities across Mexico — from indigenous farming families in Chiapas to households in Mexico City — helping them overcome poverty while compassionately preserving their culture, language, and way of life. Their microfinance program alone reaches 16,000 people a year, three-quarters of them women who are now managing their own household finances and building income for their families. Their parallel programs also train farmers in sustainable agriculture, tutor children falling behind in school, and open up conversations around mental health.
