This year marks a milestone of hope: Lift Up the Vulnerable (LUV) is celebrating 20 years of dedicated service to women and children at risk in some of the world’s most dangerous war zones. Since its founding in 2005, LUV has grown into a lifeline—through an indigenously led network spanning Sudan and South Sudan, it delivers protection, education, and economic opportunity where it’s needed most.
In these war-ravaged regions of Sudan and South Sudan, human trafficking remains a stark reality. Children are abducted as soldiers; women become victims of forced marriages or sex trafficking. In response, LUV’s holistic empowerment model, developed from within local communities, offers a powerful countermeasure. They provide essential protection—like safe housing and nutrition—coupled with quality education and sustainable economic development.

But it's more than just aid. Lift Up the Vulnerable also cultivates lasting change: thousands of women and children have been uplifted—with opportunities to lead, teach, build, and thrive in their own communities—empowering individuals before tragedy strikes and breaking cycles of exploitation.
Rooted in Christian values with a focus on local leadership, LUV brings empowerment, agility, gratitude, and partnership. And with a clear mission, well-defined goals, and a proven track record of transparency, they’ve earned top marks for accountability and impact.

For 20 years, Lift Up the Vulnerable has shone a light in the darkest corners—war zones where violence and exploitation prevail. Through education, protection, and opportunity, they don’t just rescue lives—they ignite transformation.
During this milestone year, we honor their legacy and their tireless efforts.
